Dueling Pianos has taken the country by storm. Getting its roots from New Orleans in the early 1980s, it has spread to many a college town and tourist area. The concept of the show is simple... You will usually find two pianos facing one another and two players 'battling' it out on stage. Come in to have a few drinks and sing-a-long with your favorite songs.  In almost every case you can even pick the songs you want to sing to.
Although the term 'dueling' seems to conjure up images of a battle between players, this is somewhat misleading. The players will often pit one side of the room against the other, male against female, or country against rock to see who can sing louder. Or perhaps what college team is more represented in the room by  which team makes more 'points'.

Any way you look at it a dueling piano show is a must-see experience enjoyed by many different people. The venues are great places to celebrate everything from birthdays to anniversaries.

The owner of Halfstack Solutions is a full time dueling piano player and has played all over Michigan. He is currently doing freelance work and has spent time in Reno, L.A., Chicago, Orlando, SanDestin and on cruise ships.
